Signature Masi Mountain
Johnny’s Cabin: Settling in to the final few weeks of the league, and we’re starting to see some players settling into Johnny’s cabin with little hope to reach the peak of Masi Mountain. Johnny and Ging suffered another loss this week against the Cavs and Jake duo – with vibes at an all time high before the round started, Cav’s came out strong with a par to set the tone of this match. With positive ball striking from Sciortino and Cav’s carding a 44, it was over before it began for Johnny and Ging. The pair are settling into their cabin at the base of the mountain and looking forward to hitting their sauna.
Level Two: No changes this week to the second level with a mixed bag of wins and losses from this row of players. Ryan and Geo took on Rico Sr. and Buster, with a match that went all the way to the last. Ultimately, this came down to the final putt from Ryan missing by a fraction on the outside of the cup, and giving Buster/Rico Sr the W. Putting, which is usually the strongest part of Ryan and Geo’s game was absent all round and the pair lost every chance they had to gain holes. Buster carded another 39 and proves to be the hardest player to beat week after week. Rico struggled not having any of the accessories this week, and only had a few Genny’s to get him through the round. The tension in that group was too much.
Level Three: Maintaining their hot streaks and staying up at the peak of the mountain, Cav’s and Rico Jr. took control of their individual matches and made sure the points kept flowing. Creeping into the top of the leaderboard Rico Jr. is making an impressive sprint to the finish and hoping to find a way to make it to the top. Him and Bryce enjoyed frozen margs and taco dip all round this week, which almost hurt more than it helped as Bryce took himself out of the round after consuming 5 pounds of dip and a bottle of margarita. Tommy pushed this group to the limit and similar to earlier groups, needed to sink a putt on the last for points but came up just short. Marking the end of a tough stretch for Tommy, he is looking forward to getting back on track next week and make a late push up the leaderboard.
Top of the Mountain: King Geo continues his reign atop the mountain this week, and stays in the #1 spot for two weeks in a row.. as he lets us know every Wednesday morning with his number 1 pictures. With an impressive round of ball striking, Geo’s hot putter let him down as he had 4 birdie chances on the day but was unable to secure any. A surprising turn for the player who is favored in the upcoming week and will need to get it rolling again as we look ahead to the closing week 14 where he will have a tough match for league title.
