Mark it down for week 3 as storylines begin to thicken and the leaderboard grows tighter at the top while some players are still waiting to get this season started. Not too much noise on the range this week as many of the players wanted to chip in the shade and save energy. Dope was in the air, cocktails were made and the tunes were going as we kicked things off. J Ging started the round up $100 after taking all of Sciortino’s money from the Timberwolves series.

Group One: Rico Jr. & George vs. Bryce & Tommy Group Of The Week

If DraftKings were to set the line for this one, they would’ve had it at Rico & George -0.5 holes. This group was even from the get-go and we didn’t know where the spark would come from. Rico had other thoughts, playing the round of his life, shooting a 41 and proving he is a force to be reckoned with this season. The real story of this group was the marshmallows. All round George was sprinkling marshmallows around the fairways, greens, and tree lines throwing off the groups behind them and caused everyone to think they were driving up to their ball, only to find a well-placed marshmallow.  Those damn marshmallows threw everyone off all round, making us think we hit great shots.

Group Two: Cavs Sr. & Johnny vs. Buster & J Ging

Tough matchup this week for the Cavallaro duo, who are still seeking their first points and waiting to make a charge up the leaderboard, but once again the power of Buster was just too strong. Cavs finally found the secret off the tee this week, with his hybrid leading the way. But taking one step forwards and two steps back, the putter went cold on a hot day as green speeds got the better of him. Hole of the week goes out to Johnny who secured his first EAGLE on hole 14, driving green and sinking an impossible downhill putt. Truly an unbelievable accomplishment for him and may be the spark he needs moving forward. It always was going to be challenging to secure points this week, but something tells me to look out for the Cavallaro’s in the weeks to come. Buster fully secured the lone spot atop the leaderboard but sometimes it is better to be hunter instead of the hunted…

Group Three:  Rico Sr. & Ryan vs. Jake & Jack

Group three started with drives flying anywhere but the fairway, as the cart girl put the pressure on this group off the first tee. All around the 9 this group had the tunes going and Rico Sr. celebrated every bogey or better with pipe and a PBR, fully getting his money’s worth this week. He did have one chance for birdie, having to make a three footer but the pressure was just too much as the putt never had a chance. Jake went searching for his drive this week and finally started to reign it in on the 9th hole, crushing one 305 yds down the fairway. Ultimately, Ryan and Rico Sr.’s consistency was too much, as Ryan goes back-to-back weeks never giving up a hole to the competition. Ryan and Rico Sr. closed this one out 3 up with 2 to play. For those who get the pleasure of playing with Jack, his unconventional driving and chipping techniques is truly a pleasure to watch.
