This week we remember and honor Sherri. Our forever heartbeat, and life of the party. Before the round Rico Sr. led a toast in remembrance to our beloved Sher, who will be greatly missed. A wife to Fo, mother to Jake and James, and a dear friend to all of us.

May her spirit, energy, love, and care live with us every day, and despite the hard times, keep this group close and help us to always keep the good-times rolling.

Group One: Buster & George vs. Rico Jr & J Ging

Starting this week off with some monster drives, this group had all the makings of going the distance. Just playing with Buster last week, Rico Jr. should have been familiar with his game enough to take advantage, but what looked like a strong start fizzled out as the round went on. Ging reportedly lost the magic touch this week, as the brass putter was located in Cavs’ bag and may have been the reason why. Buster and Geo went on to take this round effortlessly, but you cannot compete against this group with your average round. Buster shot a +1 and when you’re posting scores like that, you’re pretty tough to beat. Rico has his eyes set on Lake Placid and will shrug this one off, looking forward to his matchup with his fellow bald eagle in week 9.

Group Two: Ryan & Rico Sr. vs. Cavs & Jack

A very personal matchup this week with Cavs and Rico Sr. tied on the leaderboard going into the week. The rumored untouchable short game that Cavs has been playing with seemingly disappeared this week, shooting a modest 48 but three putting on almost every hole. If he had found the putter, this would’ve been a very different match but when Rico Sr. is winning holes you know that Cavs’ is dying on the inside. Ryan and Rico Sr. sealed this one on the par 5 7th, and headed over to the par 3 8th when a surprise visit from Fo and James awaited them at the green. Cavs took the opportunity to hit his tee shot right over their heads while they watched. They went on to see a couple “FORE” calls and Luka even had an ashtray for Fo! This league has everything.

Group Three:  Bryce & Tommy vs. Johnny & Jake Group Of The Week

Group of the week for this matchup as a lot was going on. The only group to catch fish this week on the 3rd hole pond would’ve led us to believe that this group was going to have some magic in them. Leading the charge in group 3 was Bryce who shot his best round to date and has been trending up lately in players to watch out for – carding a 42 on the day and was even rewarded with a double jack & coke following the round for posting a better score than Rico Jr. Something has been going on lately with Tommy’s short game, as his long play is lights out but his finishing around the green has been letting him down.. looking ahead to next week with Cavs, he has promised to hit the range all week to come in strong in week 9. Jake and Johnny were simply out gunned and outmatched this week, but Johnny is trending in the right direction on the score card, going from 58 to 57 and now 56.. if only he could trend in any direction on the leaderboard. Can someone please get that kid a win or a tie??
